About Resonance Partners

Resonance Partners is a New York-based private investment firm pursuing majority acquisitions of founder- and family-owned businesses generating $4M+ of EBITDA. We focus on field and industrial services, professional services, healthcare and life sciences, specialty manufacturing and packaging, tech-enabled services, and specialty distribution, with a preference for companies headquartered on the East Coast.

We work directly with business owners, management teams, intermediaries, and operating partners throughout the transaction lifecycle, from sourcing and evaluation through diligence, execution, and value creation.

Our internship program is designed for highly motivated individuals seeking meaningful exposure to private equity investing, business development, transaction analysis, and firm operations.

Read This First

This is an unpaid internship. There is no salary, stipend, hourly wage, or guaranteed future employment associated with these positions. We believe candidates should understand this upfront.

The value of the program comes from:

  • Direct exposure to private equity investing
  • Real responsibilities and ownership
  • Live transaction experience
  • Structured mentorship and feedback
  • A transparent promotion framework
  • Resume-building experiences that scale with performance

Interns are evaluated on execution, reliability, communication, attention to detail, and overall contribution to the firm. Showing up is the baseline; performance is the standard.

How Resonance Is Structured

Resonance operates across three coverage groups:

  • Healthcare & Life Sciences (HCLS)
  • Business, Financial, & Tech-Enabled Services (BFT)
  • Industrials & Distribution (I&D)

Each sector team consists of a Principal, an Associate, a Senior Investment Analyst, and an Investment Analyst.

Supporting all three sector teams is a centralized Origination Analyst Pool, which serves as the firm's sourcing engine.

Separately, Resonance maintains an Operations Track responsible for recruiting, onboarding, systems development, process design, and firm-building initiatives.

Available Openings

We are currently looking to fill 24 internship positions across four roles.

Associate (3 Openings)

Associates help run transaction processes, coordinate diligence efforts, manage analyst workstreams, and contribute to investment decision-making. Typical candidates have demonstrated success in finance, consulting, investing, operations, entrepreneurship, or other high-accountability environments.

Investment Analyst (6 Openings)

Investment Analysts support active deal evaluation and execution. Responsibilities include:

  • Financial modeling
  • Industry research
  • CIM review
  • Market analysis
  • Diligence support
  • Investment screening

Origination Analyst Pool (14 Openings)

Origination Analysts are the sourcing engine of the firm. Responsibilities include:

  • Building target company lists
  • Market mapping
  • Company research
  • CRM management
  • Outreach to business owners and intermediaries
  • Pipeline development

All candidates entering the traditional investment track begin in the OA Pool. Advancement into sector teams is earned through demonstrated performance.

Operations Associate (1 Opening)

Operations Associates help build and improve the systems that support the firm. Responsibilities include:

  • Recruiting operations
  • Candidate management
  • Onboarding
  • Process improvement
  • Documentation
  • Internal tooling and systems projects

This role operates separately from the investment ladder and is ideal for candidates interested in building organizations and improving how firms operate.

Promotion Philosophy

Our program operates on a simple principle: performance earns opportunity. Advancement is based on demonstrated output, judgment, execution, and readiness.

The investment pathway is:

Origination Analyst → Investment Analyst → Senior Investment Analyst → Associate → Operating Fellowship

Promotions are earned rather than automatic, and it is a normal outcome to complete a term without one. We evaluate performance based on work product and contribution. Credentials alone do not determine level or advancement.

Who Thrives at Resonance

  • Enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity
  • Coachability and humility
  • Confidence

  • Strong communication skills
  • Openness to feedback and new ideas

We can teach many technical skills. What we consistently look for are people who:

  • Take ownership
  • Follow through on commitments
  • Ask thoughtful questions
  • Learn quickly
  • Improve when coached
  • Genuinely care about the quality of their work
  • Are excited about helping build Resonance Partners

Our best interns share one trait above all: dependability.

Ideal Candidate Profiles

Strong Origination Analyst candidates enjoy outreach, research, and learning how deals are sourced. They are persistent, organized, curious, comfortable with repetition and process, and motivated to learn the fundamentals of private equity. This is often the best entry point for candidates looking to break into investing, finance, entrepreneurship, or business development.

Strong Investment Analyst candidates enjoy analytical work and understanding businesses. They are comfortable working with numbers, curious about business models, detail-oriented, capable of independent work, and interested in financial analysis and investment decision-making.

Strong Associate candidates are already capable of owning outcomes and managing projects. They are highly accountable, strong communicators, comfortable leading workstreams, able to prioritize competing demands, and confident interacting with senior professionals.

Strong Operations Associate candidates enjoy building systems. They are extremely organized, process-oriented, reliable, operationally minded, and interested in helping organizations scale.
